Proprietors
Janel Syron
Janel managed the buying and operations of Life's A Cabernet for three years. When the opportunity arose to take over the store as owner, she drank it up. Janel is Liquor Park’s resident authority on all things wine.
Janel is an International Sommelier Guild–certified sommelier who has built a dedicated clientele slinging wine for more than ten years across the Chicagoland area. Tapping her experience and expertise, she delivers spot-on pairing advice and killer recommendations for any palate, budget, or occasion.
Paul Wonak
With eight years of experience in the Chicago craft brewing scene, Paul’s the beer guy at Liquor Park. After experimenting with home brewing in college, he was Beer Manager and then Liquor Department Manager at Chicago’s Gold Coast Whole Foods. Most recently, he was repping Two Brothers Brewing Company both across Chicago and to new distribution markets outside Illinois.
In order to take craft beer and spirits to a new level in Wicker Park, Paul brings knowledge, experience, and no attitude... probably.

The Liquor Park Wine Club is the best way to experience our wines!
Once a month we hand-select a few great wines and set them aside exclusively for members of the Liquor Park Wine Club. Our monthly selections feature limited releases and staff favorites that are sure to please, and from time to time we'll introduce your palate to something a bit more esoteric, unexpected, and exciting.
In addition to our great monthly wine selections, Wine Club members also receive:
- 10% off everything in the shop... EVERY DAY!
- At least 15% off all Wine Club features that month.
- 15% off case purchases of wine.
The Liquor Park Wine Club offers two membership levels:
Intramural League ($39.99/month)
Joining the Intramural League is a perfect way to get in the game. Each month you'll receive two bottles of wine that have a total retail value of $50 to $60. The wines we choose for this level have a story to tell, pair with the season, or are just a great score.
Varsity Team ($89.99/month)
Our elite members belong on the Varsity Team. For the wines at this level, think unique and special: limited production and limited distribution, California cult wines, and estate-grown grapes. Each month you'll get two bottles of wine with a total retail value of $100 to $120, and occasionally we'll offer a bottle of unique scotch or whiskey instead of wine.
